Fantastic Fifth Week
The weather god is being kind to us this season. A lot of great scores on the back nine this week as everyone jockeys for points and tries to move up the leaderboard. Pickup a copy of the scores and standings in the club house and be sure to register for the season ending scramble and selecting your preferred meal on for the signup sheet. This information needs to be submitted to the clubhouse manager no later than May 23rd. The Scramble will take place on May 28th at 1pm, be sure to mark your calendar with the earlier tee time.
In the PGA flight, Dave Case was on fire, recording four pars and three birdies on his way to a one under par score of 32. George Henshaw recorded six pars in his round of 37 and helped keep Dave to just one skin for his birdie on number 18. Doug Toler snuck in a skin with the only par on number 12.
In the Nationwide flight Denny Burger climbed his way to the top of the leaderboard and takes home a skin for his birdie on number 17. Newcomer Steve Finn got into the skins game with his par on number 12 and Joseph Del Prince grabbed the third skin of the Nationwide flight with his par on number 14.
Once again the real story was happening in the Champions flight as a bunch of nervous guys battled it out with Meghan Kenney for the top spot. Gary “the Cicada” Lind broke out of his shell with his “Smokin’ Moki” driver and recorded his best score in 17 years with a 49. Ron Miller wasn’t about to let him get all the glory though and brings home a skin for his par on number 17. Doug Sawan and Jim Bukowski both had rounds five strokes under their average to bump Meghan down to fourth place. It’s still a race to the finish with only 10 points separating the top six players in the Champions flight.
