2022 Week 5 home

Welcome to Ohio. We go from cold and rainy to scorching summer heat in just one week. After getting rained out last week, we had to climb the back nine again.

It wasn’t just the thermometer showing some heat. The Red’s got their first series win of the season. The Kentucky Derby had an 80-1 long shot, Rich Strike, show us a horse race for the ages. And our PGA Flight standings got tight with Todd Hall turning in a make-up round that moved him into a three way tie with Dave “DefendingChamp” Shumaker and Dave Case. Joe “ThePrez” Wilmers will be looking to make a move this week from just one point behind the leaders. Skins were won by Dave Case (11,13), George Henshaw (17,18) and ThePrez (12).

In the Champions Flight Gary Lind (17), James Neville (13) and Jim Thompson (11) got into the skins game with some nice birdies. Eugene Smith and Jim Thompson both birdied number 15 helping them move up the leader board as Ron Miller joined the injured reserved squad with Jeff New and David Roth. Jeff and David visited the course today showing off their healing scars. We hope to see them all in the gallery for our season ending scramble.

In The LPGA Flight everybody still has a shot at the title newcomer Angie Childers is still leading with Megan Kenney just two points back and Barb Cassidy and Maggie Bertke Nelson are tied for third. Megan Kenney got in the birdie game on number 12, rumor has it she was hoping to see her sister Erin jump for joy and go into early labor. We are all waiting to see some pictures of a beautiful baby before we part ways for the summer.

Next weeks forecast looks to be a little more spring like. Be sure to check with Gary and make your banquet lunch selection.

If you want to turn your skins into cash see Joe Wilmers and he will collect $2 per week, I will continue to give a shout out to all skins winners and let Joe decide who gets the money.

As always standings are subject to change if/when makeup rounds are completed. Skins are only awarded to players completing their round on the scheduled Tuesday.
