Well everybody seems to be getting into the swing of things. Summer like weather is letting us shed the jackets and get loose. There was a slight increase in members joining the PARty with 19 total pars and once again one loan birdie. It’s looking like it might be a little cloudy and cool this week as we tackle the back nine, but I expect the scores to stay hot.
Just a reminder, take some time to capture some memories to share with a snapshot or video and I will add it this years photo gallery. Be sure to take a look at some of the great pictures submitted by Gary Lind and others over the past 20 years.
In the PGA flight, League President Dave Case had the loan birdie on number 3. While there were 12 pars recorded in the flight, they all canceled each other out and allowed Mr. Case to bring home the only skin.
In the Champions flight, Carl Grueninger grabbed the loan skin with his par on number 6 on his way to the only sub-50 score for this flight. Carl’s 47 helped him move up the leader board. As we all know it is all about beating your own average to get the points. Gary Lind brought it this week scoring six strokes under his average to move into a tie for second place. Bust-A-Move Snider moved back into first place with his best score (52) since April 27th, 2021. You know we will be hearing about that for a while. Things can change quickly though with six players less than six points behind.
In the LPGA, Megan Kenney joined the PARty on number 2 and took over the top spot. With Barb Cassidy just one point behind. Newcomer Sandy Gresham-Garrison took the most points for the week with her four strokes under average score of 58, moving into a tie for third place, just three points off the lead. Our newest golfer Gayle Wynn is also in a tie for third place, our league rules don’t allow her to turn in a score above her current average of 66. So she will keeping the rest of the flight on their toes, proving that it’s not necessary to beat anyone but yourself. So, relax and have some fun.
See you on the tee box.
